Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky (1866 – 1944) was a Russian abstract painter and art theorist, specializing in abstract works. He has even been considered the founder of abstract art. Many artists can be painters and specialize in the technique, but not many can call themselves theorists. The central aspect of his art was the quest for inner beauty, fervor of spirit, and spiritual desire inner necessity… and Kandinsky applied this theory to his work in many ways; mostly with color. He used saturated hues to harmonize his paintings and create feeling, claiming that he heard music everytime he saw color.
