Just fell in love with NY artist, Hope Gangloff. She captures the natural essence of people so intrinsically through her sickly-pale colors and oddly colored outlines of the human figures, which is ironic because even though these people aren’t drawn “realistically”, she captures people in their natural state so well… I look at her work and I feel like I’m a quiet observer spying on her models when they’re pondering something in the distance, when they’re at home with nothing to do, when they’re lonely or scared.
Really a huge fan of this – the painterly aspect in the portrayal of their skin, mixed with the illustrated aspect of detail of line in furniture and clothing. Really, her works holds a universe of mixed mediums and human nature.
